The Switzer Center Gallery at Pensacola State College

The Switzer Gallery occupies a special place in the life of Pensacola State College and the lives of Northwest Florida residents and visitors. As a teaching gallery, it is a catalyst for creativity by providing the best examples of contemporary art for our students that relate to studio endeavors. As well as, developing creative working collaborations with artists and local arts organizations, we span and build upon the strengths of the community. The Gallery has a vital role to play as resource for learning that connects academia to the public at large.

Mission

The Switzer Center Gallery at Pensacola State College is a teaching institution that exhibits, collects, interprets, lends and preserves the visual arts. It focuses on contemporary art with an active commitment to taking an academic approach to programming and collections management. It fulfills the college’s educational mission by serving as a resource for the visual arts by presenting exhibitions and programs to the academic audience and general public.
