Two Japanese artists from Wakayama Prefecture will exhibit artwork in the Lamar Studio, opening
the 2019 exhibition season. Master Potter Mr. Masayoshi Shimizu will exhibit traditional handmade
pottery, along with artist, Mr. Taisan Tanaka’s contemporary calligraphy.

MASAYOSHI SHIMIZU
The essence of Mr. Shimizu’s pottery is revealed when people use his bowls, platters,
and vessels in their daily lives. The beauty is in its use.

TAISAN TANAKA
Mr. Tanaka is a contemporary Japanese artist specializing in calligraphy infused with live performance.
