The Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts at PSC is in full swing for the spring semester 2025 with two exciting exhibitions, Brooke Shaden’s SAMSARA and the PSC & Gulf Coast Kiln Walk’s Connected.

Faculty, staff, students, and fellow art lovers gathered from 5 – 7:30 p.m. at the Charles W. Lamar Studio to appreciate the photographic artworks of Brooke Shaden and attend her lecture 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the Lamar Lecture Hall, Room 1513. The SAMSARA exhibition is on display in the Charles W. Lamar Studio of the Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts, Bldg. 15, until May 2, 2025.

Shaden shared, “Samsara creates a rich, uncomfortable, and open space to dissect how we internalize grief and how other cultures practice rituals surrounding death. As you look at the art, assess your own relationship to your ephemeral existence and eventual death. Many images came from inspirations around the world of how grief manifests based on culture, location, and spiritual beliefs, from a glass hearse in India to sky burials in Tibet.”
