Art Shay

As a Time-Life photojournalist in the 1950’s and 1960’s Shay recorded the history and progress of the Civil Rights Movement along with the lives of those involved and effected through his camera lens.
World Class street photographer and writer Art Shay spent more than 70 years as a Chicago-based freelance photographer for Life, Time, Sports Illustrated and other national publications. He photographed major figures of the 20th century including nine U.S. Presidents.
