Exhibit Viewing: October 14 – December 13, 2024 Show & Tell! [3] reveals a collection of artworks created by the faculty of the Visual Arts Department at Pensacola State College. This exhibition will be on display in the Switzer Gallery from October 14 – December 13, 2024. Artist Introductions will take place in the Lamar Lecture Hall (Room 1513) on October 15, 2024 starting @ 5:30pm. A reception will follow, and the event is free and open to the public!
Exhibit Viewing: October 14 – December 06, 2024 This exhibition showcases a collective of eight student portfolios from the Senior Studio Graphic Design course, required in the Dr. Marjan Mazza Bachelor of Applied Science in Business and Management, Graphic Design Management concentration degree.
Exhibit Viewing: August 12 – December 13, 2024 Rachel Livedalen is an Associate Professor of Art at Texas Christian University, in Fort Worth, TX, where she heads the printmaking area. She earned her MFA in Printmaking from the University of lowa, and her BA from the University of Virginia. Livedalen’s creative practice explores representations of femininity through the lens of art history and visual culture, and her work has been supported in various residencies. Her artworks can be found within the collections of various museums, and she is represented by Erin Cluley Gallery in Dallas, TX and Ivester Contemporary in Austin, TX.
Exhibit Viewing: August 19 – October 4, 2024 With a background in tattooing and commercial art, Gerard Frank is a self-studied artist who has been working professionally for 26 years. For nearly two decades, Frank has been perfecting images for the human form in his tattoo artistry as well as screen printing commercial work.
Exhibit Viewing: May 27 – August 9, 2024 Gina Phillips is a mixed media, narrative artist who grew up in Kentucky and has lived in New Orleans since 1995. The imagery, stories and characters of both regions influence her work. She started her career as a painter, but over the years, has increasingly incorporated fabric and thread into her work. She begins a piece with a simple under-painting in acrylic paint on canvas or muslin, then finishes the piece by appliquéing fabric and thread on top.
Exhibit Viewing: June 10 – August 2, 2024 Hosted by the Anna Society members of Pensacola State College, this juried exhibition features a collective of student artwork of juniors and seniors from both Escambia County and Santa Rosa County. At the event, various awards will be given and student award recipients will be recognized.
Exhibit Viewing: April 1 – May 3, 2024 This juried annual exhibition showcases the finest examples of work created by current Pensacola State College Visual Arts students and embodies a variety of media, including ceramics, drawing, digital design, painting, photography and sculpture.
Exhibit Viewing: January 17 – May 17, 2024 In collaboration with the Gulf Coast Kiln Walk Society, PSC displays a collection of artwork from internationally known artist couple: Chris Gustin and Nancy Train Smith. Through his explorations of form, Chris invites the viewer to seek personal connections to his work, while Nancy utilizes abstracted forms to depict her own perception of the natural world.
Exhibit Viewing: January 11 – March 8, 2024 Dan Charbonnet is a Louisiana native and graduate of the University of New Orleans, where he received a Master of Fine Arts in Painting. His works are in museums and private collections across the country, Including the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art. He is a cofounder of the Good Children Gallery Artist collective in New Orleans and was a featured artist in the Prospect 2 international triennial.
Exhibition Viewing: October 16 – December 15, 2023 Hovering between two-dimensional abstraction and physical representation, Scott Andresen provides insight into the creative process while exploring themes of repair and the joining of the unlikely through collage and mixed media works.

Chris Gustin, a prolific and world-renowned studio art ceramicist, is a professor emeritus at the University of Massachusetts. Gustin is an explorer of forms, a painter with fire and glazes, and a master of his materials. He takes inspiration from historical, utilitarian pottery and the subtleties of the human form. Gustin’s work ranges from functional wares to exquisite tiles to expressive works of art.

Lauren Woods is an artist whose practice and creative research explores concepts of mythic time across various mediums such as painting, video, and dance performance.
The exhibition includes collage and assemblage work by Georgia artist Marcus Kenney. The meticulously detailed pieces often incorporate urban detritus collected by the artist with themes exploring personal iconography, current events, or simple whimsy.
The exhibition features Southern folk pottery paired with ceramics by contemporary artists inspired by the traditional shapes, themes, and materials. Artists include Peter Lenzo, Steven Dark, Ashan Pridgon, Micah Cain, and the members of the renowned Meaders family.
